What I Wear in Alaska

An alternate title could be “What I Wore In Alaska With Only 1 Suitcase While Waiting For My Things To Arrive…” but I digress. Right now the weather is nice. In the early mornings it’s usually 30 degrees and it warms up to 50 by midday. If it’s a sunny day then it feels warm, but if it’s a little cloudy and rainy then you feel the cold a lot more. Layering is key.

So let’s break this outfit down:

1. Tall boots. These pups will only work during the Summer/Fall since once snow hits I need to break out my rain boots and Sorels, but for now these 50/50 Stuart Weitzman boots are my favorite. The price is high, but they have paid for themselves over and over for how much use I get out of them.

2. Leggings. Q says I don’t look put together in leggings. I beg to differ. Lululemon Wunder Under Crops are the best. Not only great for working out, they also keep me warm doing day to day errands. THE best.

3. Tank Top. I just use a basic Splendid layering tank for now, but when it gets colder I’ll need to replace it with some long underwear (like this).

4. Sweater. I love sweaters and my closet can tell. This one is wool and has stripes (cuteness factor, here is a similar top), but on the colder days I whip out some of my heavier cashmere ones from J. Crew (this is a new favorite).

5. Jacket. This was a last minute “Before I move to Alaska, I should get this since I might be cold” purchase from Lululemon. It’s water proof which is great during the rain and keeps me warm. Come winter I’ll be bundled in a big down one, but for now this works.

6. Sunglasses are my favorite Jessica Simpson pair. Necklace is my go to long necklace by Leif.

These posts are going to get lengthier and lengthier as my layers increase over the winter! PS we were out running errands when I had Q snap this hence the no-make-up with a Trader Joe’s shopping bag and Netflix in hand look I had going on!
