Being in Los Angeles has been wonderful. I love Alaska, but really have missed having my friends and family close by. This week has been focused on wedding planning! We sort of/kind of have a date in the spring that could change any minute because of Q’s career, but am working around that for now. A little peak into my inspiration flowers and florist:
(from HollyFlora)
I’ve also been able to stop by all of my local favorite restaurants, including Mendocino Farms, The Hungry Cat and Olive & Thyme in Burbank. Boy have I missed Los Angeles food.
Lunch – 12:00PM
My mom and I had a working lunch at Olive & Thyme in Burbank, a cute little cafe and marketplace in Burbank after our morning appointments. I got the three salad plate which had Asian Slaw, Farro with Roasted Beets and Hummus. It was fresh, light and delicious. We also split a piece of Sea Salt Caramel Chocolate Cake. Magnificent.Dinner – 7:30PM
For dinner, my mom take the reins and made pan-seared shrimp, corn, crunchy bed and salad. Dessert was homemade caramel pecan ice cream. I missed having my mom cook for me!Memorable Dinner this week
My mom and I went to see the play, The Book of Mormon at the Pantages Theater on Sunday. It’s written by the creators of South Park, so witty and hysterical. We went to The Hungry Cat for dinner beforehand since it’s within walking difference and one of my favorite seafood restaurant. We split the lobster roll and the mussels. Unbelievably good. Back tomorrow with either a fashion post or a bread recipe TBD!

Hey there! As a fellow military wife, I love reading your blog! Quick note of advice on planning your wedding – wedding insurance. It will save your butts (and deposits!) if the military decides to disrupt your plans. I think ours was with Travelers and I highly recommend it for peace of mind. Congrats and enjoy the planning!
