I’m heading to the airport in a few hours to pick up this guy:
We are headed down to La Jolla this weekend for our friend JT and Pooja’s wedding. I’m so excited for all of our friends to be reunited this weekend, should be a lot of fun.
Q flies back home on Sunday. I fly to Hawaii on Tuesday to visit family for 5 days with my mom and then on Wednesday the 15th I join Q in Alaska for good. It’s crazy how fast it is all going. I am SO excited, a little nervous (mainly about the 2000 pounds of household goods we shipped ever getting there
), eager to get my life started there, sad to not cuddle with the doggies every night. Just a wide range of emotions. I’m really happy to have my partner here this weekend. With so many changes and things happening, it will be nice to have my best friend here holding my hand.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Wow! So many changes, huh? I was an army brat growing up, so I understand your feelings (leaving everything you know behind to embark on a new, scary, exciting, fun adventure). Keep your positive attitude, reach out to other women (or men) who are in a similar situation (other military spouses) and relish the time you have with your sweetie and you’ll do GREAT!
Btw, congratulations on your impending nuptials. You and Q make a beautiful couple!
P.S. Hopefully, one day soon, you’ll be stationed in Europe (Heidelberg, Germany was the BEST). Keep your fingers crossed!
Ahhh thank you for the kind words Tracy! It’s so exciting and scary at the same time, but I’m eager to get it all started! We are hoping for Germany or at least something European/Asian for at least one duty station, it would be a fun adventure!!! Thanks again! xo
