It’s beautiful and sunny in Alaska from April to September (if we are lucky). Q and I have vowed to make the most of the summer and nice weather. We want to hike, have BBQs, walk to dinner, and spend as much time outside as possible before the snow comes in. Our friends recommended we buy mountain bikes to take advantage of the trails and encourage us to be outside even more. Luckily Fairbanks has tons of trails and roads and is very bike friendly.
This week we went to the bike shop and we bought bikes. And helmets. And water bottles. And on Thursday we went on our first ride. We did 14 miles without even thinking. The scenery could not have been prettier. Alaska in the summer looks like a picture. Words cannot describe the beauty. Today we went on our second ride. Ten miles with a break for lunch in between. We’re hooked. I’m headed back to LA tonight and this is my last trip until I officially move in August (wow time flies!).
I miss my bike already.
