I took an unplanned break for the past few days, but I’m back! It’s been a busy couple of weeks for me being back home in Los Angeles. Q and I flew in together 2 weeks ago and I dropped him off at the airport this morning to head back to Alaska without me. He’s going to be a geo-bachelor for the next 3.5 weeks while I finish up wedding planning, head to Paris and San Francisco and get all my “LA errands” in. Originally Q was going to fly down to Georgia to complete a course during this time, but it got pushed back to February, and unfortunately all my plans were pretty set in stone (not that I’m complaining about heading to France!). It’s interesting to me that when Q and I lived apart, it was hard to be without one another, but now that we live together and spend so much time together, I find it so much harder to be away from each other. Does that make sense? So what have we been up to in the past few days?
Totally not relevant to the post, but I really missed this pup!
We rung in the New Year with our dear friends Ali and Stuart and in true “old married couple” status were home by 11 and watching the ball drop on TV.
My dress is Jessica Simpson Collection (similar by Madewell)
We had a wedding food tasting at our venue for the big day, which was very exciting! It was a lot of fun to show Q what the big day is going to look like and walk him through the “day of” festivities. It’s closing in on 3 months away!
We tried cakes! And cookies. And brownies. And cake pops. And macarons. All in preparation for the dessert bar at the wedding. This was by far the highlight of all the wedding planning for me. (PS we went with cake pops, mini cupcakes, macarons, cookies and milk and chocolate pretzel mix). I never thought I could be “sugared out,” but after 2 cake tastings in one day, I was in a sugar coma.
So what’s next? For me, it’s some fittings, some invitation picking and some quartet selecting. For Q, it’s getting stronger and stronger for his next course and focusing on work while I’m home. Wedding countdown is 99 days. And tomorrow I promise a non-wedding post! Happy New Year!

Just a friendly tip….re: invitations, try zazzle.com I am in LOVE with the invitations I chose from them.
I love that you were home by 11 on NYE. Sounds familiar! Your assortment of wedding treats look amazing! Cake testing was my favorite part of wedding planning too. Let me know what being “sugared out” feels like… Hoping to get to that point soon so I don’t gain 20 pounds at pastry school!! Ha… Happy New Year!
