I flew up to Fairbanks Tuesday night after work to visit Q for his favorite holiday (the fourth) and his birthday (the sixth). I arrived at 2AM and it was still light out, basically it looks like dusk from the hours of 1-4AM (crazy!).
For our Fourth of July celebration, Q and I went to a BBQ. We brought a spinach salad with balsamic, feta, strawberries and walnuts and a little pasta salad also (penne, balsamic, French bread pieces, cherry tomatoes and mozzarella). I had a turkey burger while the men ate steak (what’s new?).
I made my favorite oreo stuffed chocolate chip cookies (good party dessert since everyone is always so impressed).

Today we are buying a mountain bike for me and then going on a long ride around our place. Tomorrow Q is heading in to work while I prep for a little birthday celebration at our place (I’m making a few appetizers and maybe S’mores cupcakes for dessert).
